Responsibilities
Project management for design surveying, mapping and geospatial projects throughout Michigan, Midwest and CONUS.
Execute or direct mapping, ALTA surveys, hydrographic surveys
Prepare cost estimates and complete projects within the budget
Quality Control of daily field and office technicians’ work and deliverables
Calculations, adjustments and research
Preparation of portfolios and deliverables
Strictly adhere to deadlines without deviation
Occasional travel may be required
Build relationships with clients and help win projects

SURVEY TECHNICIAN
Responsibilities
Muxlow Surveying is looking for a Survey Technician to work out of our Marlette office. The Survey Technician will have the opportunity to work on exciting, multi-million dollar transportation, military, energy and industrial projects. Muxlow is always on the cutting edge of technology and offers the opportunity to continually learn. The Survey Technician will help measure and map the land and other built features. They collect field data to report back to surveyors and other map making professionals. Data collection is captured through lidar, global positioning or total stations using a laser measuring device. The Survey Technician will have the opportunity to gain field experience and continually progress into a long term career if he is fully committed to the organization. This role will include some travel and interaction with the internal team and clients, therefore a highly professional appearance is required.
Maintain, calibrate and keep accurate records for equipment.
Maintain, clean, organize and load truck.
Perform and handle delicate equipment to obtain submillimeter accuracies.
Accurately set up, operate and collect data with all instruments.
Take accurate field notes, must have excellent drafting quality hand writing, and review with drafter.
Record measurements and descriptive data in various forms and formats, digitally and by hand.
Record survey measurements and descriptive data, using notes, drawings, sketches.
Conduct surveys to ascertain the locations of natural features and human-made structures on the Earth’s surface, underground, and underwater, using electronic distance-measuring equipment and other surveying instruments.
Search for section corners, property irons, and survey points.
Perform manual labor, such as cutting brush for lines, digging, carrying and setting stakes.
Surveying technicians work outside extensively and can be exposed to all types of weather.
Document survey findings and delineation of lines and boundaries as found and set, using drawings, sketches, and inked tracings
Perform any related work as assigned
Requirements
Very good math skills, computer and other electronic device skills, ability to add and subtract angles in degrees, minutes, seconds format by hand.
